An Eyewitness at Pearl Harbor
In addition to being the grandfather of 20th-c. fantastic fiction, Edgar Rice Burroughs was our nation's oldest war correspondent ever. He was present in Hawaii during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor 71 years ago today, almost immediately writing down his impressions as well as volunteering for service at age 66 and serving through the next four years. Michael Sellers of The John Carter Files reminds us of this today by linking to ERBzine's collation of ERB's account here.
