The Fourth Day of Christmas

On the fourth day of Christmas, 

my true love gave to me

Four colly birds,*

Three French hens,

Two turtledoves, and

A partridge in a pear tree!

* This is usually misunderstood these days as “Four calling birds.” A “colly bird” is a common blackbird.
